Our firm is growing and we’re excited to add a Senior Interior Designer with 7+ years of experience, an Interior Designer with 3-6 years of experience, and an Assistant Interior Designer with 1-3 years of experience to our team. These are full-time, in-office positions in our North Kingstown, Rhode Island design studio.

Senior Interior Designer

Blakely Interior Design is seeking a creative Senior Interior Designer to join our talented team. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and is confident in all aspects of interior design, project management, and has a deep understanding of construction.

About the Position: 

Under the leadership of the Director of Design, the Senior Designer will design and manage multiple projects to create full-scope design schemes including ideation, space plans, budgets, fixture and finish selection, and sourcing furnishings. The Senior Designer will also work in collaboration with our Senior Project Manager to manage schedules, trades, and keep projects on track. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in Revit, the creation of millwork drawings, and design documentation. This position is best suited for individuals that are confident in large-scale project management, have experience on construction job sites and liaising with trades and GC’s.

The ideal candidate possesses the following: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Interior Design or Architecture

  • 7+ years of experience in residential interior design and construction projects. Familiarity with high-end residential industry vendors a strong plus.

  • A strong knowledge of day-to-day interior design processes, construction processes, and experience on active construction sites.

  • Advanced knowledge of Revit and developing construction documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop and Studio Designer a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively present information to internal team members, clients, and vendors.

  • Highly organized with a strong background in project management; managing project schedules and developing budgets.

  • Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize multiple projects under pressure.

  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems with creative solutions.

  • Is excited about working in a growing business, driving results, and making an impact.

Assistant Interior Designer

Blakely Interior Design is seeking a creative Assistant Interior Designer to join our talented team. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and is confident in all aspects of interior design, project management, and has an understanding of the construction process.

About the Position: 

The Assistant Interior Designer will collaborate closely with the Director of Design to develop comprehensive design schemes. Responsibilities include creating design concepts, space plans, budgets, and selecting fixtures, finishes, and furnishings. The role also involves sourcing furniture, preparing detailed FF&E specifications, and developing schedules for finishes, fixtures, equipment, hardware, and plumbing. Additionally, the Assistant Designer will manage and maintain the materials library to ensure it remains current and organized. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in Revit, the creation of millwork drawings, and design documentation, and experience in sourcing high-end furnishings.
