Unveiling The “New” Blakely Interior Design

“The only constant in life is change.” – Heraclitus

From the shores of Maine to the mystique of historic Newport, we’ve been busy working on an evolution of design. It’s funny how people say the pandemic has distorted their perception of time; for nearly two years we’ve been designing homes that tap into a whole new side of Blakely. These recent projects and clients have required a different design approach that what you’ve seen from Blakely in the past. One that is more elevated and sophisticated, yet still colorful and bold.

Our work was advancing, so naturally our brand required an upleveling, too. A “new” Blakely has been emerging behind the scenes and we’re super excited about our updated brand identity. So, after many months in the making it’s officially time to unveil our fresh logo & website!

Our new logo thoughtfully captures our initials within its monogram and feels classic with a modern twist.  We also craved a more complex and polished color palette beyond our previous youthful bright blue/pink/green hues. These new colors feel approachable and timeless, but still capture an essence of the unexpected.

Our website also underwent a major makeover. We could have simply swapped out the logo and changed a few colors, but it was important to reflect a seasoned, elevated vibe to showcase our projects. One of the main goals was to make not only our completed projects the star of the site, but to also showcase the plethora of projects in progress and the amazing architect and contractor partners we’ve been blessed to work with. We graduated our former blog to The Journal, and refreshed it with a more simplified format and new categories, so expect continued monthly design inspo and content.

We encourage you to take some time touring the new site and perusing our projects (both completed and in progress) for the full experience!

The Blakely Mission & Design Philosophy

With so much new, our commitment to the values that Blakely was built on are unwavering. Our philosophy has always been rooted in a bold approach to design and an uncompromising commitment to an elevated project experience. We take great pride in transforming our clients’ lives with homes that feel deliberate, thoughtful, and cohesive from floor to ceiling, inside and out.

Our design team will always push the boundaries of creativity and challenge the status quo by incorporating intriguing patterns and textures, distinctive custom elements, and statement-making details into every project, as these are really the hallmarks of our work. Most importantly, we’re our client’s true project partner each step of the way, always keeping their best interests in mind and being their advocate throughout the journey.

Shoutouts!

This big undertaking would not have been possible if it wasn’t for our project partners. Roxanne and her team at Hanna Creative Co. beautifully executed our vision for the new logo and website. Their guidance and knowledge of the industry were so appreciated, and we’re delighted with the end result.  Deb Mitchell carefully crafted all our new brand messaging and website copy, eloquently capturing alllll the things we wanted to say. All our projects are shot by Greg Premru; he has an impeccable eye for interior photography, and always makes our work shine in the photos. We brought back Jessie Wyman for a third time to shoot our lovely new team headshots.

And it goes without saying, but a huge thank you is due to the 11 members of the Blakely team that make running the day to day of the business a success, especially Jessie who led the charge on this effort! A company is only as good as it’s team, and ours is filled with many talented, hardworking individuals whose passion for design and the wellbeing of our clients and the business is palpable.
